Gudang Sub-district
2016-08-09Gudang has a long history. According to legend, the ancients found the crisscross network of rivers which were densely covered with fishponds at the foot of Laoheshan Mountain when they were overlooking on the mountain; they called it Gudang for the linking marshes and ponds which seems like the Chinese character “古” (Gu). As time goes, “Gudang” becomes the graphical name of this place. Gudang Village was changed into Gudang Town in 1986, then Gudang Subdistrict in April 2002. The total population of the subdistrict is 40.7 thousand; the total area is 4.64 square meters with 10 communities and 2 share economic cooperatives under administration.
