August 19, 2018 is the first Chinese Doctors’ Day, the festival for health workers. On yesterday afternoon, the 1st Doctor's Day Symposium was convened in West Lake District, during which Zhang Genming the district committee secretary commended the excellent doctors in the whole district. Liu Ying the vice district secretary and district director, Lu Huaying, Qian Zhiqing and Zhang Liqun the district leaders attended.

        Zhang Genming, on behalf of the district CPC committee and district government, expressed congratulations and respect to each “excellent doctor” being commended and festival greetings and sincere thanks to all the doctors and medical workers in the whole district. He said that the State Council decided to set August 19 as Chinese Doctors’ Days, which sufficiently represents the highly importance attached by the CPC and state to health work as well as their concern and affirmation on health workers. The medical workers in our district have silently been dedicating and playing an important role in promoting the medical and health levels to keep improving and efficiently guarantee the citizen health for a long time.

        Zhang Genming pointed out that it is necessary to focus on the work in the following three aspects. Firstly, it is necessary for the whole district to carefully learn the spirits of important instruction on Chinese Doctors’ Day by General Secretary Xi and profoundly understand the important spirits of the Central Committee on health work and the health ideas of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era expressed by General Secretary Xi. The health system needs to organize the medical workers to carefully learn and profoundly discuss the instruction spirits, further improve the political standpoint and accurately grasp the working deployment of the Central Committee, provincial and municipal committees so as to promote them to be the motivation for advancement of health cause in our district. Secondly, it is necessary to profoundly understand the significance of the Central Committee to set Chinese Doctors’ Day. The setting of Chinese Doctors’ Day is the special honor that the CPC and the people gift the medical workers, which further promotes to form the good atmosphere of medicine and health respecting and health sharing in the whole society. Thirdly, it is necessary to keep creating the new pattern of health cause in our district guided by the socialism ideas with Chinese characteristics in the new era expressed by Xi. As for the first step, the whole district should pay enough attention. The district CPC committee and district government need to actually arrange the health cause in the schedule, continuously increase the investment, accelerate the hardware construction, optimize the medical structural layout and promote the firm development of health cause reform. As for the second step, it is necessary to create the good atmosphere of medical and health respecting in the whole society. It is necessary to care for the medical workers, promote the construction of harmonious doctor-patient relationship, help the doctors to realize their life values in serving for people’s health and make the noble profession a respected profession for all. As for the third step, it is necessary to represent the spirits of reform and innovation. Reform deepening is always on the way where it is necessary to abide by the performance of government duties of public health and accomplish each mission with high standards while it is necessary to improve the medical and health levels with the innovative working thoughts, guarantee the implementation of central, provincial and municipal reform measures in West Lake District and further provide better medical and health service. As for the fourth step, it is necessary to execute the people-oriented ideas. It is necessary to learn to think from others’ standpoints, promote and practice the reform with people as the center and serve as the promoters of medical reform deepening well. As for the fifth step, it is necessary to develop the medical morality and perform benevolent operations. Doctors need to improve people’s health and welfare by high-quality service with ideas of benevolence, mankind benefit and self-examination. Meanwhile, it is necessary to build the community health service centers with high standards and practically improve the sense of happiness and sense of gain of the masses.
