A few days ago, the Semi-annual Work Promotion Meeting on Comprehensive Management of Road Traffic Safety and the Mobilization and Deployment Meeting for Critical Actions was held in Xihu District. The meeting conveyed the spirit of the municipal semi-annual promotion meeting for comprehensive management of road traffic safety, and summarized the work of the previous stage and put forward the requirements of comprehensive management of road traffic safety in the next step. Ye Ze, Deputy Secretary of District Committee, and district leaders Wang Jian and Chen Bailei attended. 

Ye Ze firstly expressed affirmation to achievements made in the first half of the year in the comprehensive management of road traffic safety in the whole district. He pointed out that road traffic safety concerned people’s lives, and comprehensive management was a long-term task. Relevant departments should coordinate with each other, advance deployment, advance investigation and eliminate hidden dangers, so as to effectively ensure the road safety in their jurisdictions.

Ye Ze stressed that we should focus our efforts on three aspects in the next stage. The first was to fully recognize the achievements of the comprehensive management of road traffic safety and enhance our confidence and determination to do a good job. Since the comprehensive management was deployed at the beginning of the year, we had shifted from “single-soldier combat” to “joint governance”, from “surprise operations” to “regular operations”, and from “fire-fighting” to “fireproofing”. And we had built a comprehensive governance structure of “Party and government leadership, up-and-down linkage, department coordination, traffic police battle and social participation” and achieved obvious results. The second was to clearly recognize the current road traffic safety situation and existing shortcomings, enhance the sense of mission and responsibility to do a good job. As a system engineering, the comprehensive management of road traffic safety had long-term and complex features. We should face up to the existing problems, strengthen joint efforts to improve road safety, solve the hard problem and improve the shortcomings. The third was to further focus on the key and difficult points of the comprehensive management of road traffic safety, so as to ensure that all work could be carried out in a real and effective manner. We should unwaveringly stick to the bottom line of the goal to create a safe, smooth and orderly road traffic environment for the social and economic development of the whole district. We should focus on the improvement of weakness, intensify the rectification of key vehicles and personnel, and the management of hidden danger, publicity and education, and notification and exposure. And we should resolutely and strictly supervise and check the standards of assessment, really play the command role of the assessment.
