On the afternoon of September 7, the 35th Celebration Meeting for Teachers’ Day of Xihu District Was Held in Hangzhou Qiantang Foreign Language School. Secretary Zhang Genming of District Committee made a speech. Leaders including Gao Guofei (Vice Secretary of District Committee and District Mayor), Shi Yingli (Director of NPC Standing Committee of Xihu District), Ye Weiping (CPPCC Chairman of Xihu District) and Ye Ze (Vice Secretary of District Committee) were present.

First, Zhang Genming extended the season’s greetings and high respect to the extensive teachers, educators and retired teachers working at the front line of education industriously on behalf of the district committee and district government. He pointed out that under the joint effort of all people in the district, the education in Xihu had taken the road of rapid development, high-quality development and balanced development during recent years. With the emerging of a large batch of excellent schools, teachers with touching stories and students of fine qualities and fine scholar, Xihu gained a “golden name card” in education.

Zhang Genming pointed out that education was a peculiar phenomenon of human society, and it was generated and developed with the generation and development of human beings. In the process of advancing high-quality development of educational business, we should accurately grasp the changing and invariant parts in education. On the one hand, we should realize three “invariant parts” in education. First, education must realize mutual improvement with era development. Education is always related to era development, and the progress of the time also creates development conditions for the progress of education. Second, education must share a common fate with the country. Education can influence our physical and mental development, and continue the traditional culture of the country and nation. Third, education must share the same theme with the masses’ appeals. Education must be conducted among people, and echo with the masses’ thoughts, demands and appeals.

On the other hand, we should grasp “four changing parts” in education. First, the education hardware, education layout and educational facilities must be changed. Our scope of mind should be broadened according to the education demand, and the education allowance must be increased, to make the education layout more balanced, education hardware more advanced and educational facilities more progressive. Second, the educational idea, educational technique and educational method must be changed. The educational idea should be changed continuously according to the internet era, digital era and modernized era. Advanced educational mode should be adopted and advanced educational technique implemented, to make those educated receive more extensive, fashionable and modern education. Third, the education organizing, education management and education implementation must be changed. Schools should activate the reform thought according to the practical situations, and increase the reform level. The administrative department in charge of education should strengthen guidance and design, summarize reform experience, and generalize good practice. The principal should act as the planner, designer, pusher and executor of reform. Teachers should reflect the reform thought, undertake the task of reform, and bear the responsibility of reform when implementing educational activities. Fourth, the education assessment and education evaluation must be changed. We should continue to study how to protect the legitimate interests of schools, teachers and students according to law, and pursue high-quality education.

Zhang Genming emphasized that we should bear in mind the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the National Conference on Education in the future education work, comprehensively develop Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, carry out the party’s educational policy, and closely center on the reform and opening-up policy of Xihu to grasp the “changing and invariant parts” in education. In this way, we would be able to push the education in Xihu to a new level, and truly realize the vision of bringing beautiful life with beautiful education.
