On the morning of April 17, the Cooperation Signing Activity of Emergency Medical Research Center of Xihu University was held in Xihu District. Dong Yumin the deputy district committee secretary and acting district director and Shi Yigong the academician of CAS and head teacher of Xihu University delivered lectures. Qian Zhiqing and Dong Qingyuan the district leaders and the responsible persons of relevant departments of municipal health commission and Xihu University attended. During the activity, Xihu District people’s government and Xihu University signed Memorandum of Joint Construction of Emergency Medical Research Center of Xihu University. Hangzhou Municipal Health Commission and Xihu University signed the memorandum of building a high-level lab together. Hangzhou First People’s Hospital Group and Xihu University signed the cooperation agreement on the serial contents like building a joint research institute.

Dong Yumin expressed his own feelings and expectations through three perspectives. Firstly, it is the time. It is necessary to realize that Emergency Medical Center should stick to the urgent needs of public health system and medical scientific research now, obtain the great concerns of central, provincial and municipal government leaders and represent the strategic insights of Xihu University, missions of Municipal Health Commission and Glorious Responsibility of Xihu District. Secondly, it is the wholehearted service. It is necessary to realize that Xihu University belongs to the world, China, Zhejiang, Hangzhou as well as Xihu District. Xihu District should treat Xihu University wholeheartedly and do the best to serve. The relevant departments should finish the infrastructure facility supporting preparation and handling of relevant procedures, strengthen the project and talent service guarantee and actually ensure that they always stand by. Thirdly, it is the tolerance. It is necessary to realize the founding of Emergency Medical Research Center is brand new and scientific research cannot be finished within one day. It is necessary to provide scientists with enough admiration and tolerance, keep scientists from the secular world and into scientific research and offer a solid guarantee for scientific research.

Shi Yigong expressed that this cooperation was based on the common vision of Xihu University and Hangzhou in maintaining public health safety and improving sudden disease handling ability and obtained the concerns and support of Xihu District committee and government and Hangzhou Municipal Health Commission. It is expected that Emergency Medical Research Center can produce a batch of major original achievements and key core technological breakthroughs in prevention and control of infectious diseases and medical and health industry, undertake a series of major national emergency medical tasks and become one of the main forces for people in China and the world to resist sudden epidemics.
